I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, but I didn't know where else to turn. I've read over the customization part of the manual but didn't see what I was looking for.

I have a 2.88 MB floppy image. I would like to integrate that with the system rescue cd. I have created the CD and followed the instructions to make it USB bootable, that works fine. I added my floppy image to the bootdisk directory on my usb drive. In the syslinux folder I have added the following to syslinux.cfg

label floppy
kernel memdisk
append initrd=/bootdisk/floppy.img floppy


This entry is in between the entries for gag and dban. So it looks like this:


label gag
kernel memdisk
append initrd=/bootdisk/gag.img floppy
label ghost
kernel memdisk
append initrd=/bootdisk/ghost.img floppy
label dban
kernel memdisk
append initrd=/bootdisk/dban.img floppy

It is worth mentioning that my floppy.img file was originally floppy.ima. I simply renamed the file and changed the extension from .ima to img. I'm not sure if this was a good idea. But I thought that .ima and .img files were similar enough that I could get away with it.

When I boot and press F2 I do not see my floppy in list of bootable images. What have I done wrong?

P.S. Would there be any point in my posting my entire syslinux.cfg file?

I've made some progress. My edit to syslinux.cfg was successful.
In the syslinux folder I made changes to the f2images.msg file so that the name of my floppy shows up in the menu.
When I type the name of floppy image, it is detected and attempts to boot. I get the following read out:

And then all I get is a blinking cursor. I have also tried using a floppy image that is a .img file and is the standard 1.44 MB size, I get the same result.

I don't really know where to go from here. I feel like I'm close, but maybe I'm not.
